Beings from the other side of the Rent, the Rashaar are creatures from beneath the waves. Able to mate with humans, their offspring have brought forth a new enlightenment to Venice, as the word of Dagon is spread to the masses.
Who they are: The Rashaar is the primary monster factions in Carnevale. They are also one half of the two-player starter.
How they play: The monsters in this faction have good Protection values along with high Life Point values. This gives them a very tanky feel. In addition, their slave models can be "eaten" by the monsters to replenish some hit points.
This faction also has some decent magic choices.
Finally, most of the models have some bonuses to water travel, so they have the inverse of most factions where they are faster in water than on land. This can also be a weakness in objective missions.
Another weakness is that monsters are expensive. As a matter of fact, they have the smallest 100 ducat legal list in the game. This also means you often will not have as many activations each turn as your opponent. Fortunately, this typically is only one or two models less.
Sample Lists: The two following lists are legal 100 ducat lists:
List 1: (smallest legal gang not recommended)
- Voice of Dagon
List 2: (playable 100 Ducat list)
- Lesser Ugdru
This list is based around the Rashaar Starter Gang and Unholy Mutations. It is led by a Magi, which is a good source of magic. In addition, the Aglaope gives a little bit additional magic. While not as great of a tank as some of the hero options, the Lesser Ugdru can act as a nice unit to act as a means to slow down an enemy. In addition, it has the Monster keyword along with the Aglaope for the slaves' Feast of Dagon ability. The two Advanced Hybrids give fast models on land or water for objective running. Finally, this list includes Poison which gives out Stunned, something people in water definitely want to avoid.
